The freedom of after marriage

Before I got married to Juan, I had this idea that once a woman is married, she no longer have the freedom to do things solo. It was BEFORE.

Then fast forward to today. I still managed to do things I love either with my friends or alone. There's still a level of freedom I get to enjoy.

When you got married, the daily chores that you do with your spouse can turn into a routine. So being able to do our own separate thing can sometimes be good . You don't want things to be so normal that you don't look forward to seeing each other everyday for the next 30 years. A breather, they call it.

Juan and I don't mix our friends together except that coincidentally, some of his colleagues are my ex-colleague too, which is a bonus point so we have things to talk whenever we meet. When I go out with my friends, I hardly bring him along. The industry that I work in is total opposite of what Juan does. Furthermore, the topics that we discuss may not be in the interest of Juan. When I'm out with my friends, Juan gets his lonesome time alone. He can watch his anime cartoons *which I don't get why their faces look all alike*. We sometimes fight over who wants to watch which channel. We do, like seriously.

Oohh, I'm off to a movie with a friend. Bye.

Taking a breather

It has been a stressful time for the past few weeks. Between juggling my day job and my personal work, I tell you, it has not been an easy one. I've been having mood swing with people around me. Running everywhere to get things done. But I enjoyed it.

On the other hand, Dianah is back for her semester break. Well, it also means a messy house :-(. But it's only temporary. I think I can live with that, or can't I? My parents are back here....again to pick Dianah up from the airport. Reason being she arrived on a weekday, so it was not convenient for me.

Since I've been so stressful for the past weeks, Juan decided to bring me out last weekend. It was weird to hear him say 'Let's go out' because most of the time, this type of conversation is normally made by me. We were walking around the malls, having lunch and got home. Just that and I did not purchase anything *pat on my back*

My first Love-To-Dress

Assalamualaikum.

I was overly excited for the last weekend because a special parcel arrived. Been anticipating this arrival actually.

I wanted to wear the dress for the upcoming Raya Aidiladha but I could not refrain myself from wearing it over the last weekend. I was sooo happy that I have found a brand that could cater my petite body shape WITHOUT having to go for a single alteration.

And guess what parcel that came in? It was #LovetoDressxFV. I was contemplating to get one piece for myself but as I was following their Instagram account , I could not resist myself from looking through all their gorgeous collections. Who says that hijab girls can't be fashionable while staying modest at the same time? *flips tudung*

When Juan brought back the parcel, I opened up the parcel right at that instant. You can call me gelojoh. Putting it on to make sure that I have purchased the correct size. I jumped and skip around the house. Because happy hormones decided to pay me a visit, Joking. I was happy because the dress fits me perfectly. Everything draped around my body nicely without being too tight nor too lose. As I was inspecting the workmanship of the dress, I could not stop saying 'Wow' because they were so detailed from the top to the bottom of the dress.

What I like most about this dress is that, the inner lining is made of cotton, not your usual chiffon linin. Therefore, you won't feel the material sticking to your skin when you sweat. Most importantly, you stay cool throughout the day. I'm gonna get another piece soon.

Cameron Highlands, The weekend gateaway

Juan and his friends has planned this trip many months ago. Previously it was postponed numerous times as most of us could not make it.

Me and Juan were the last one to arrived in Cameron as I couldn't take half day. We arrived at the apartment roughly around 9pm. We weren't alone throughout the journey. There were a few cars ahead of us so I felt a bit safe knowing that there are someone else on the road with us.

I felt so stress free on Monday as the weekend was occupied with activities that could take my head off from work even though it was just a little while.

Juan's friend brought to this little cafe, The Lord's Cafe. A small little cafe situated on the 2nd floor of a row of shop houses in Tanah Rata town. The first thing I noticed about this cafe was that all the furniture and and wall deco are old. Looking at them, I presumed they were from the 70s or perhaps late 80s.

The prices were reasonable looking at the generous portions they served. Their famous specialty would definitely be their scones. The scones were light but not crunchy enough on the outside. The butter and jam were good and not so sweet. The choices of drinks are limited but in a cafe like this, it's good thing that you limit your food choices. The cafe is also photography friendly. For those who loves vintage layout, this could be the place for you.

In Cameron, I had the opportunity to visit BOH Tea Plantation. First thing, narrow!. The road to the plantation can fit one car at a time. So I suggest that either you car pool or rent a van in a group. Weekend is definitely a pack time although it was not school holiday. Reason maybe because Cameron Highlands is situated in between the North and Southern side of Malaysia.

Food was not up to my expectations. There are many choices of tea. For a pot of Sri Songket tea, it cost you only around RM6.90 and can be shared by 2 person. There weren't any scones only desserts and curry puff. The view was nice and cosy. There are also souvenir shop so you can purchase your bags of tea but they cost slightly expensive compared to supermarket. You can also visit their factory. A tour guide will be assigned to your group.

Ipoh road trip : Day 2

The much awaited Gua Tempurung. One word, wow. This was definitely not a planned visit. The 3 of us were wearing slippers when most of the visitors have climbing boots -__-'. The shortest trail takes about 40 minutes and I told my parents 'It's like Gua Kelam je. Senang je jalan, dengan slippers also can'.

Gua Tempurung is a cave in Gopeng, Perak, Malaysia. It is popular among spelunkers, or caving enthusiasts. More than 3 km long, it is one of the longest caves in Peninsula Malaysia. Part of it has been developed as a show cave with electric lighting and walkways and there are a range of tours of different lengths and difficulty. A fine river cave, the river passage runs about 1.6 km through the hill. There are three very large chambers and some spectacular stalactites and stalagmites.

So we entered the cave and we were like 'I didn't see this coming'. We thought the cave would be like Gua Kelam, Perlis where you only need to walk along the short trail. My mum was in her best of clothes she brought to Ipoh and I wore my palazo pants thinking that I can snap my #ootd there but women, you were wrong!

We were sweating, my makeup melted, my dad was like 'See, I told you' well, my mum? She's controlling her macho la. My dad took #selfies at every point -__-'. 'I was like 'Daddy, seriously?' . I guess my dad was trying to compete with my sister who's having her #weecation in Goa with her friends, to see who has the coolest weekends. The both of them were posting photos on Whatsapp like never ending.

We climbed half way then gave up. But it was a astonishing view to see and you should try it yourself.
