When it comes to travelling abroad, I'm very careful. Just to make sure that all process or procedure goes smoothly. So before you start preparing for your trip or pack your luggage or applying for visas or purchasing the flight tickets, here are few tips you might want to consider that some may overlook.
1. Always check your passport expiry date. Make sure the expiry date is no less than 6 months.
2. If possible, photocopy your identification card and passport (in case you lose your important documents during your travel).
3. Get contact number and address to the nearest embassy nearby to your location.
4. This is the most important point. Check your travel status online through Jabatan Immigresen Malaysia here (click on Online Services at the top page > Check Status of Immigration Control For Malaysia- Blacklist ) especially those who has pending PTPTN loans or you can call 03-8892 6041/6042/6043/6044. Best is to check both ways although the online service is a real time result. This is the first thing to do. Check a few weeks before purchasing your tickets, prior to your travel date, and perhaps a day before your departure. The blacklist system can be triggered at any point of time. So you don't want to be block from travelling out of Malaysia.
5. Make sure you have packed important medication because you don't want to be hospitalize at a foreign country where some hospitals can cost a hole in your pocket. For those who has medical/insurance card, seek advise from your agent.
