....no, I don't think my blog is dusty yet.
It has only been days that I have not updated my blog.
So, I've been busy juggling with my 8 to 5 work and preparing for my upcoming project with my best friend. We'll be coming out with a product which I can't reveal as of yet cause everything has not been finalized. There are a lot more ground work needs to be done. Alla has just finished preparing her final thesis but now that she's done, her little brain can come back.
Me and Alla has been talking about this project of our since our high school days :-). It was supposed to be a cafe of our dream but nope, that has gone down the drain. We both don't have the cooking skill so we decided to put that aside.
So, do pray for us. May everything goes smoothly. Insyaallah.
It still feels like we got married just yesterday.
Time flies and wait for no one. Indeed.
We both turn exactly 18 months this month. We're at a stage where we think a baby will add some fun into our family of 2. Production has yet to start because there are some changes in the design layout and timeline.
We're leaving for Japan next March and if we were to plan now, the chances of us having to forfeit our plane ticket is high. So we decided to put aside the idea of having a baby this year. Most of our effort is concentrated in raising funds for our trip so we have no space to slot in other thing.
I may not be the best adviser when it comes to friendship cause I really suck at that.
Like seriously. To be honest with you, I have less than 20 good and best friends. But as a person who has been walking on this earth for about 30 years, I've made new friends and lose some old friends. Hey, who doesn't right?
Well, as you grow old, you only want to keep quality friends. Not just keep the fun ones only but also friends who will actually be there for you when you're in trouble. Some will just turn their back on you the moment they know you're in deep s***. Well, I've known than bunch.
In case you miss this out (A CLOTH OVER MY HEAD Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and final part), I did mentioned a small part where I expect to lose some friends along my journey of change. For a person who has more non-Muslim friends, the approach of revealing a new you can be a little different. The way you explain your change and why you do it has to be simple and subtle so that you do no offend them.
Wearing the scarf does not mean you need to change friends too. No you don't. It's more of not making an impression that you're changing yourself into an ustazah. That will scare anyone too, you know.
I was at my close friend's birthday party last weekend. A question was thrown at me from another close friend. 'So what's hard for you after you wear the tudung?'. I answered' Nothing actually. Tudung is just a choice I made and my way of life. Other than that, my friends are still the same like you guys. So nothing changed who I really am'.
When you changed (like my case), don't ever throw judgement to your friends that you're better than them. Just because you have a piece of cloth over your head doesn't mean that you have to choose who you wanna be friends with. Be yourself and don't be a hypocrite. Be honest and be the original you.
The true Muslim tries to understand people but does not make judgments on them, and he may call them to what is good and right, but he does not impose his opinion upon them. As for reckoning and taking people to account, that solely belongs to God.

Assalamualaikum.
I was overly excited for the last weekend because a special parcel arrived. Been anticipating this arrival actually.
I wanted to wear the dress for the upcoming Raya Aidiladha but I could not refrain myself from wearing it over the last weekend. I was sooo happy that I have found a brand that could cater my petite body shape WITHOUT having to go for a single alteration.
And guess what parcel that came in? It was #LovetoDressxFV. I was contemplating to get one piece for myself but as I was following their Instagram account , I could not resist myself from looking through all their gorgeous collections. Who says that hijab girls can't be fashionable while staying modest at the same time? *flips tudung*
When Juan brought back the parcel, I opened up the parcel right at that instant. You can call me gelojoh. Putting it on to make sure that I have purchased the correct size. I jumped and skip around the house. Because happy hormones decided to pay me a visit, Joking. I was happy because the dress fits me perfectly. Everything draped around my body nicely without being too tight nor too lose. As I was inspecting the workmanship of the dress, I could not stop saying 'Wow' because they were so detailed from the top to the bottom of the dress.
What I like most about this dress is that, the inner lining is made of cotton, not your usual chiffon linin. Therefore, you won't feel the material sticking to your skin when you sweat. Most importantly, you stay cool throughout the day. I'm gonna get another piece soon.

As Malaysians, we know how is it like to celebrate Aidilfitri in our own motherland but do you know how does it feel on other side of the world?
Being an experience amateur traveler,*cause I still can't leave my lotion behind*, celebrating Syawal in a foreign land could mean, celebrating only with your spouse or family members. The number of Malaysians who stay abroad can be counted by fingers *although the numbers are increasing*, so expect less guest coming over to your place.
Countries like Australia, Europe don't celebrate Aidilfitri except the minority, therefore you rarely see people clad in their baju kurung or baju melayu walking around the town after visiting their relatives. It's odd and mat saleh may find it interesting. There are no public holiday for Syawal, it's either you go to work or you take your leave day.
One thing for sure, when celebrating Syawal in oversea is you make new friends. People with the same nationality as you whom you have not met. Places like Malaysia Hall will host Aidilfitri celebration every year and all Malaysians within that particular area will come together.
However, as for myself, having a mum as a Singaporean could be slightly different. Celebrating Syawal in Singapore is merrier compared to Malaysia. We start the day in the afternoon and visit relatives until the wee morning. I was a rich kid back then and with the currency exchange, I could buy the whole Trump Tower *ok kidding*.
Aidilfitri is celebrated for a month in Singapore. You can still see people in their traditional wear even after the holidays are over. They still go for house visit after working hours. That semangat, I tell you.
When I was small, I had an uncle who worked as a trailer driver. He would pick us up in his 16 wheel trailer (if i'm not mistaken) and we'll go to relative houses until the next Subuh. Imagine that. By the time we got home, we were flat out but we still continue again that evening.
Things were a bit different in the old days but as time goes by, Syawal is celebrated according to trend but the spirit still remain the same. But, one thing for sure, no matter what, I'm still #proudtobemalaysian
