We even visited the famous Kaikan Gochapon shop along the street of Akihabra. It's a bit tricky to find your way there but it's around 15 minutes walk. The range for a Gochapon machine is between 100 yen to around 600 yen. View the map here.

Since there were no halal snacks around Akihabara, we decided to Google up and find halal takoyaki. Who goes to Japan without trying their famous takoyaki kan. It's not the same as the ones we ate in Malaysia. Takoyaki there is fresher and the taste is soooo good. We found one while on the way to Ueno park, Minatoya takoyaki. Price is reasonable, 350 yen for 8 pieces of takoyaki balls.

Our final destination was the Ueno park. It's just around 10 minutes walk from the Takoyaki stall. The right time for sakura blooming is normally end of March but we were there earlier, therefore, we managed to see a few trees blooming. That's better than nothing.

Ueno Park is a large public park next to Ueno Station in central Tokyo. The park grounds were originally part of Kaneiji Temple, which used to be one of the city's largest and wealthiest temples and a family temple of the ruling Tokugawa clan during the Edo Period.

Today Ueno Park is famous for the many museums found on its grounds, especially the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum for Western Art, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and the National Science Museum. It is also home to Ueno Zoo, Japan's first zoological garden.

Additionally, Ueno Park is one of Tokyo's most popular and lively cherry blossom spots with more than 1000 cherry trees lining its central pathway. The cherry blossoms are usually in bloom during late March and early April and attract large numbers of hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties.
